Package Testing
Purchase and repurchase studies are carried out as in-depth product tests.
The purpose of these studies is to get the participant to try the product based on image alone and, once it has been tried, to try to get him/her to continue using it. The principal objective is to determine if the product satisfied the consumer's needs sufficiently to warrant its continued use after the study is concluded.
Along with the measurement of purchase intent, the study evaluates the distinct characteristics that make a product more or less appealing to the consumer.
CID Gallup has designed specific studies that are based primarily on a focus group environment, that allow an evaluation of certain physical characteristics such as esthetic attractiveness and functionability of its proposed use. Also, using tools like the Perceptual Analyzer, it is possible to determine differences in preferences between different styles of logos, labels and names, among consumers in the target market.
